FAQ's
Below are
a number of questions that we are commonly asked when people are considering
having their own website designed or graphic design work completed.
If it is not listed, please e-mail us your question, and we will be
pleased to answer your query with absolutely no obligation.
Do
I need to know about computers or the Internet to take advantage of
having a website?
Not at all, having a website does not mean that you have to have the
skills to use a computer. However, BARSQ can show you how to use the
internet.
I
already have a brochure, can you make a website from it?
Yes we can. Having a brochure is a great start to building a website.
The website can be made or tailored to match your existing brochure
to help complete your individual or company image.
Can
I use photographs or pictures I already have on my website?
Yes. Providing the photographs or pictures are yours to use. If someone
else has taken them or owns them, you should get permission prior to
their use. We will normally have to optimise pictures prior to using
them on your website to ensure they don 't take too long to download.
More than 2 images per page will incur a small additional fee.
I
have an idea of how I would like my website or brochure to look, can
you help?
Yes. All we ask is that you sketch your ideas down and help us compose
the text of your website and we will try to produce a website or brochure
that meets your requirements.
I
already have a website but would like to change it, can you help?
Yes. We can completely re-design or give your existing website a "facelift"
if you require. Please see our prices page for more detailed information.
I
have already brought a "domain name" can I use it?
Generally, yes, although you may need to move the domain name to a new
host, depending on who is currently managing the domain name. Sometimes
a fee is payable to move it or attach it to another account.
Can
I get information from people who visit my website?
Yes. We can design forms for people to fill in that are interested
in your services. The results can be e-mailed to you, which you may
then pursue either via e-mail, telephone, letter etc. If you do not
have e-mail facilities, we can redirect and process your online mail
for you for a small charge.
What
is a domain name?
This is name that people will type as a URL to go to your Website, generally
ending with ".com or .net or .co.uk or .com.au". It is a good
idea to use/have a domain name that people can remember and is specific
to you as an individual or your company, such as ours "www.barsq.com".
We can help you secure a domain name that is relevant to you and your
company if you require.
What
about different email addresses?
If you are already familiar with the internet, you may already have
an e-mail address. When you obtain a domain name for your company, you
can usually use the domain name for e-mail addresses as well, for instance,
you may want an address such as "your.name@domain.name.com".
Can
I redirect my new email through my existing email accounts?
Yes. Your e-mail host will provide the facility to forward your e-mail
to any existing e-mail account you have. However, it is a good idea
to use business e-mail addresses for when you reply to a customer.
What
is the turn around for a document to print?
If using an external print company, usually we like to give a 2 week
turn around time to make sure artwork and proofs are correct before
going to final print.
How
long do I need for the design process on a brochure?
Depending on the amount of work to be done, generally a 1-2 week turn
around time, although this time is a rough estimate and could take longer
or shorter depending on the task at hand.
